The Lion of Judah Academy was founded in January 2002 as a private English/Kiswahili Christian school. Its purpose is to provide a Christian foundation and a quality education giving each child every opportunity to pass any national examinations they may take, and preparing them for educational success in the future living a life to the Glory of God.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Philosophy of Education:

The philosophy of The Lion of Judah Academy is based on a God centered view that all truth is God's truth. We acknowledge Christ, confessing our dependence on the work of the Holy Spirit, and recognizing the ultimate authority of the Scriptures, the Word of God. We believe that the Scriptures establish the basic principles that should guide the development of Christian character and govern all Christian behavior.

We maintain that each child is a gift from God and that God has committed to the parents the responsibility of training and educating their children. We, teachers and staff, join with the family to nurture each individual child in body, mind and spirit, giving him/her a solid foundation for day to day living, being grounded in the Christian concept of love. This means that unselfish love should be the motive in all of life's decisions, actions and relationships. While discipline may be necessary, children will be treated with respect; corporal punishment is not used.
Each child is encouraged to work to his full potential in Christ. We promote high academic standards using an enriched Tanzanian curriculum, while helping students to think creatively and critically. The Bible is taught as a subject as well as being integrated into all other subject matter because it is our objective to place the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of the entire program.

To establish schools which follow the Tanzanian education curriculum provided by the
Ministry of Education.

To provide quality education to Tanzanians, giving them every opportunity to pass any
national examinations and preparing them for future educational success.

To enable students to understand, to use, and to value English as an international language
and Kiswahili as a national language.

To encourage each child to work to his/her full potential thinking creatively and critically.

To encourage behavior which will honor Christ and ensue self-confidence.

To enable students to understand and respect work, the laws of the country, human rights,
citizenship and preservation of the environment.

To co-operate with other organizations with similar objectives to 'The Lion of Judah
Academy'.

To raise funds and other resources to fulfill the objectives.

To carry out the work of 'The Lion of Judah Academy' with love, commitment and
compassion.
