Josephales Mtebe, school director, (equivilent to headmaster or principal) embodies the spirit of The Lion of Judah Academy. Mtebe (mmm-teh-beh), as he is most often called, is a deeply committed Christian who has been a professional school teacher for many years. He is bright, talented, visionary, extremely capable, and hard-working. He, along with Lynn Inlow (see " Founders "), received the initial vision for the creation of The Lion of Judah Academy in 2000. Today, as director of the school, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Lion of Judah Academy, and much of its success and effectiveness can be traced directly to him. Not only does he capably lead the educational programs of the school, but he also oversees ongoing construction work, recruits and supervises new staff, interacts with the government on behalf of the school, and carries out many other important responsibilities. In addition to his work at the school, Mtebe is an elder at Bulima Local Church and oversees the local UKWATA (a nationwide interdominational Christian youth organization). He is so skilled in English that he is widely sought after as a translator. He is serving on a major national commission studying ways to improve education in Tanzania. He graduated from Nassa Theological College in 2002, receiving an Advanced Diploma in Theology. He is married with three children, the youngest now approaching his first birthday.
