SCHOOL LIBRARY GROWING RAPIDLY

Huge strides have been made at the school's library during 2005, thanks to the help of two work teams and several generous donations of books.

Previously, the school library had been limited to a couple of small bookcases in one classroom. But the third classroom building, finished earlier this year, includes a room for the school library. During the summer several sets of bookshelves were finished, and a work team spent several weeks processing, laminating, and preparing books for the library. That work was continued by another work team in October, and currently thousands of books are in the library and available to the students.

More books are needed, and contributions are welcome. Books for older children, especially "chapter books," are a special need.

The Lion of Judah Academy Library is one of the school's great assets, and it is almost unheard of to find a library of its quality in a Tanzanian primary school.
